What happens in a One to One session?
Stage one: (Present State) Nick asks questions to get a clear understanding of your current situation.
Stage two: (Desired State) Using goal setting techniques Nick helps you to decide how you want things to be instead.
Stage three: (Change work) We then start making use of Hypnotherapy and other NLP techniques tailored to your personal experience, to help you move from where you are, towards your ideal life.
Stage four: (Flexibility) We check that we are making progress, if not then we try a different approach.
Stage five: (Test) We check that you are not only where you wanted to be, but that you are happy now that you got here.

What is NLP / Hypnotherapy?
"Neuro Linguistic Programming" Was developed in the 1970's by Richard Bandler and John Grinder. NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) can be used to help you to deal with the effects of past experiences. It is particularly well known for its Phobia cure, in many cases helping people to get rid of a phobia within hours or even minutes.
NLP starts from the belief that you are not broken and that you don't need to be “fixed” rather that your mind has learned and is applying a strategy that isn't suitable to the situation. Starting with this belief, NLP attempts to exchange the processes that your mind is using for those used by people who are successfully achieving the same goals as you.
If for example you are struggling with an addiction to something that is bad for you, NLP would say that the addiction strategy that you have is good but it's attached to the wrong thing, so why not make use of it for something positive, like eating healthily.
NLP is often used in combination with Hypnotherapy to great effect. Paul McKenna was one of Richard Bandlers students and uses many NLP techniques in his work.
"Hypnotherapy" has existed for thousands of years in one form or another. Hypnotherapy makes use of your natural ability to go into altered states (trance). In this state Nick can give your unconscious suggestions which are designed to help you achieve your goals. While people used to think that it took hours to get people into a deep trance, the development of rapid inductions (as used by Derren Brown) means that it's now possible for many clients to do deep trance work to help you change your life in a much shorter timescale spending less time on the hypnosis process and more time on the suggestions which are designed to help you.

Smoking
The Stop Smoking program takes roughly three sessions. In these sessions I use Hypnotherapy to help you naturally and easily give up smoking. Many of the people who come to me to stop smoking have quit before but then started smoking again. A common concern is the worry that they'll put on loads of weight when they quit smoking, while there will be some changes to your weight, Nick uses advanced unconscious metabolic re-patterning to deal with these problems effectively and make sure that any negative weight changes are temporary and short lived.
